Sweet & Spicy Grilled Shrimp šŸ¦

This shrimp is so delicious no one would be able to tell you whipped it up in less than half an hour. My mom has been making it for years, so I decided to give it a try with my own adaptation to the staple recipe in our house. The result is a sweet and spicy shrimp that tastes divine on a lettuce wrap, salad šŸ„—, or simply eaten on its own! It only takes a few ingredients and two steps for this savory meal to be ready. I prefer grilling this shrimp because it gives it a distinct smoky flavor. This also makes it a perfect addition when barbecuing. However, it can also be made on the stove using a skillet. Use these ingredients and measurements as a general recommendation and measure with your heart. It's such a simple recipe, which makes it hard to get wrong.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ib of peeled & deveined raw shrimp

  • 3-4 tbsp sriracha

  • salt & pepper to taste

  • 4 tbsp olive oil

  • 5-6 cloves garlic šŸ§„, minced

  • 4 tbsp ketchup

  • 1/4 cup of red onion, chopped

  • 1/4 cup parsley or cilantro, chopped

  • juice from 1 lemon šŸ‹

  • whole lettuce leaves for wrapping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Cover and let marinate for half an hour to a few hours.

  2. When the shrimp is done marinating, place them on the grill. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side until shrimp are pink in color & no longer translucent. Serve immediately with lettuce wrap.
