This steamed soft tofu recipe is delicious, healthy, and quick to make. When I go to the store I will normally pick up a pack of tofu since it will keep for a long time and is always good to have on hand. If you are not a tofu fan, you will be after trying it with this addicting dressing. You can customize the dressing to your liking by adding more or less spice. I recommend eating this with jasmine rice.
Ingredients:
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. oyster sauce
1 tsp. fish sauce
1 tsp minced ginger
1 tbsp. sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tbsp. dried small shrimp
1 tbsp. chopped peanuts
2 tbsp. chopped scallion and cilantro (or scallion only)
2-3 fresh Thai/birds eye chili peppers (optional), cut into small pieces
Salt & white pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tbsp. black vinegar
Instructions:
Carefully remove the silken tofu from the packaging. Open the tofu then drain any water. Flip the tofu onto your serving dish to avoid moving it later & potentially breaking it. Let the tofu sit while you prep the rest of your ingredients. After at least half an hour drain the water that came from the tofu.
Combine all sauce ingredients together & mix well.
Slice tofu then let it steam for 8-10 minutes.
Pour the dressing over the hot tofu. Garnish with chopped scallions & cilantro. Serve immediately with rice. Enjoy!
